Thank you so much for all this information! It has been a big help. We are new to horse ownership this summer and have an appendix quarter horse and a pony. I have been hauling a square bale out every two to three days, and was honestly dreading the winter months ahead. So I searched for hay feeders and found Big Bale Buddys and these reviews!(which will save me alot of frustration)!

I'm wondering how the bale buddy was working for the alpacas? I had considered a slow bale buddy for my llamas but I'm worried someone would get a foot caught in the mesh.

I also notice a cover on your alpaca...is it a matilda cover? How often do you have to change it during the year as the fleece grows?

Just found your review. I may have to invest in one or 2 of these.
