Hi FAF Fans.
I’ve totally hit a fiber arts wall. I have 3 bobbins half filled with spinning, I have 3 projects started 2 crochet 1 knit and I hate all of them. I’m not feeling creative at all this week which is so unlike me.
So, I need some suggestions.
Here is a huge cone of a fingering weight alpaca in heather gray. It hasn’t spoken to me at all as to what it wants to be. Ideas?
I better get out of my fiber funk soon because guess what? I’m going to be a spinning demonstrator at the NYS Fair! Yup, if anyone is planning on attending the NYS Fair on Wednesday 8/31 stop by the wool barn and look me up!
On a side note I’ve noticed that the wild grapes are starting to look pretty good on my nightly walks. I’m thinking of using some of them to dye yarn later this fall.

I recommend giving yourself permission to not work on any of your WIPs until after the State Fair.
Sometimes, for me anyway, I need a complete break from whatever I’m working on… and that includes thinking about them.
If I had that spool of alpaca, I would make Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Knitted Garter Stitch Blanket. I’ve been wanting to make it for quite some time but haven’t decided on the right yarn.

Oooh, the grapes will be lovely to dye with.
I look at that cone and I want to weave with it.
I’d say, take a break from fiber arts or at least those projects. You don’t want to work on them if they don’t bring you joy.
It should always be about fun.
Take another look at the cone of alpaca next to the picture of the grapes–I see gray yarn with grape colored beads…..
Hmm, I’m drawing a blank. I guess you could just send it to me, that would solve the puzzle for you!
When I hit the wall, I put the knitting/etc aside and spend a few days browsing through all my knitting pattern books. It gives me a rest but keeps me in the crafting mood! Or I update all my Ravelry stuff. Good luck!
Oh no I hate being in a funk! Hope the yarn speak to you soon, it’s such a pretty colour!
Oh, those grapes look luscious. Sometimes I have to step away from the knitting. When I come back to it, I am ready!!

Grape dye would be wonderful. I hear you on the funk, I’ve been knitting the same stinkin sock for a couple of weeks now and I’m just about ready to move on. The cone of yarn + grapes = maybe some fabulous yarn? that might speak your language? God luck
Hi!
Hopefully the yarn will speak to you soon. It’s too pretty not to. Those grapes are a lovely shade. The yarn will be beautiful that color. Have a great day!

I’m sorry the yarn isn’t speaking to you right now—I hope it pipes up soon, because it’s lovely and needs to become something even lovelier.
Those grapes look lovely, too, and I hope you do get to dye with them (and share the results! I’m curious!)
I find it better to let the funk disappear by itself. It always does and then you will be back to all the fibre loveliness again.
Good luck at the Festival, maybe a break until then isn’t such a bad thing and you might get your inspiration there?
Oh, I hate it when the mojo goes on vacation. I usually have to cast on something quick and satisfying (regardless of how much else I’m already working on) to remind myself that it is supposed to be fun and I don’t have to work on things if I don’t want to
I totally agree with Nat! I’d do a little something else and come back to it with Mojo-intactus (that’s the official Latin name!
