Moriesians
Moriesians:
The Moriesian is a result of a breeding program initiated in the USA to produce horses that combine the elegance and charisma of the Friesian with the versatility of the Morgan.
Dutch Hollow Acres has a superb Moriesian specimen with our versatile mare, Aurora LaBella Luna. Fancy name huh, around the barn she’s known as Cotton and has one of the best personalities I’ve met yet. Cotton has won many ribbons in Pleasure Driving, Combined Driving, Dressage, English Hunt Seat, Confirmation, and Competitive Trail.
Cotton is in pregnant! Bred to Ivan-Reno for a March 2010 foal. Click Here for Photo colage
What are we breeding for?
The foal will be a pure 2nd generation Moriesian. This means both parents are the actual cross of a Morgan and Friesian but their offspring is full blooded Moriesian.
The foal will be of medium size ranging from 15hh – 16hh. This foal is guaranteed to be a rich black color with thick skin, shinny coat, long mane and tail with possibly some feathering. Hooves are strong and rarely require shoeing unless ridden on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
The foals action will be light and athletic with thick neck and legs.
Personality will be unmatched. Both Morgans and Friesians are known for their willingness and obedience. Both parents are very inquisitive and not frightened easily. When presented with an obstacle they are very willing to move forward and investigate rather than turn tail and run making them great carriage and trail horses. They are calm and gentile and crave human interaction. They train very easily and are forgiving to mistakes, making them the ideal parther for someone who wants to grow with their horse from weanling to seasoned athlete.
